Manila, Philippines – Former WBC flyweight champion Randy Mangubat was arrested this weekend in Trece Martires, Cavite province, in a covert operation involving 2 packs of Crystal Meth (Shabu), police said Monday, May 21, 2018.
In addition to the seized drugs also the marked money, in the amount of 200 peso was secured at the suspect.
Mangubat said after his arrest that he had financial difficulties and trouble with his wife, he resorted to drugs.
The former boxer promised to change his life when he was released on bail.
Mangubat is now facing lawsuits for breaching the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Randy Mangubat made his debut as a professional boxer on March 19, 1994, his last fight on July 31, 2006. Over the course of his career, he won 34 fights, 14 by KO, 22, he lost 4, by KO.
